Asia Business Leaders Advisory Council (ABLAC) 2021 Annual Meeting

I contributed to the research and writing of the INTEGRATING SOUTHEAST ASIA’S DIGITAL SECTOR session backgrounder as part of the ABALC 2021 Meeting Booklet. Aside from collaborating in the general research for the backgrounder, I wrote the mini case studies on the Philippines' QBO Innovation Hub and the Gojek-Grab tech firm rivalry in Indonesia (see screenshots below). Attached below is a copy of the booklet (found on APFC's website) as well as the summary report of the 2021 ABLAC Conference

Learning Significance

  1. The research support I provided for the ABALC backgrounder gave me an in-depth understanding of the Southeast Asia digital economy. I also gained experience in using open-source research tools like Factiva and Statista to source crucial data and reliable sources. This project was also my first experience in researching, analyzing, and synthesizing key digital economy issues for an international corporate audience. The Gojek and Grab piece in particular, allowed me to combine my dual academic background in International Relations and Business to provide a concise but comprehensive analysis on one of the biggest tech issues in Indonesia and Malaysia.
