Asia Watch

Asia Watch is APFC's biweekly news intelligence service. As a member of the APFC research team, I contribute to the writing of news articles for Asia Watch. Attached below is a sample of my work - an Asia Watch article from June 10th, 2021 entitled "COVID-19 Vaccines Roll Into the Philippines Amid Vaccination Reluctance". A list of hyperlinked articles I have written can be found at the very bottom of this post.

Learning Significance

  1. Through Asia Watch, I've gained experience in how news article writing works. I've learned how to pitch stories that I'm passionate about both in writing and in person to the rest of the writing team and editors. Asia Watch has also developed my ability to quickly (in roughly two hours) and concisely research, write, and edit a 300 word news article on extremely complex and often sensitive political issues for a readership of around 3,750 people.
