Profile

Sofia is an early-career policy professional passionate about creating social impact at the intersection of policy, technology, and business. She is currently a Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellow at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She most recently worked at Deloitte's Future of Canada Centre, generating public policy and research insights on key national issues like digital equity.

Prior to Deloitte, Sofia was a Junior Research Scholar at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. As part of the Digital Asia team she published individual research on 5G geopolitics. She also co-authored papers on AI adoption, AI education, and digital innovations for pandemic response for organizations including the Public Health Agency of Canada and the APEC Business Advisory Council. For her work at the Foundation she was nominated for the 2021 UBC Arts Co-op Student of the Year Award by her managers, and was awarded Honourable Mention by the Award Committee.

Sofia holds a Master of Management and a BA International Relations (High Distinction) through the Bachelor + Master of Management Dual Degree at the UBC Sauder School of Business. For her academic performance, she was awarded the Master of Management Accelerated Career Scholarship, the United Nations Mack Eastman Prize, the Tuum Est Award, and Dean's List designation. In 2019 she was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society for ranking in the top 15% of her program.

In her free time, Sofia served as Senior Editor for the UBC Journal of International Affairs and as a Girls Belong Here Ambassador at Plan International Canada. Previously, she represented Canadian youth at the 2021 World Bank & IMF Annual Meetings.
